Cobblestone setts are available in a variety of colours and we have selected six colours to be carried in stock for immediate supply. See PRODUCTS
Our imported cobblestone setts are genuine natural granite and are hand cut to a standard size of 80mm x 80mm within close tolerances, generally plus or minus 5mm.
Thickness of the stones vary around the average of 45mm.
The standard for our module size has been set to allow for many designs, including fanshapes, to be made without cutting/splitting stones.
Attention has been directed to quality control overseas to ensure standards are maintained.
Stones are supplied in wooden crates which contain 1000 of the one colour.
Allowing for the setting of stones with 10mm wide joints each crate covers 10 square metres. Other sizes for special purposes can be obtained.
200-300 metres of each of the 6 standard colours are kept in stock for immediate orders.
For larger projects ,sufficient stock can be obtained within 30-40 days.
Cobblestones™ are relatively easy to lay. As with all tiles a firm base is necessary , preferably concrete, and then the stones are laid in the desired pattern in a bed of mortar to required height.
Joints of 10mm are recommended. As the thickness of the stones may vary, it is necessary to select the thicker stones to lay first.
After the mortar bed has set , grouting of the joints can be carried out by pouring wet grout .
Any cement remaining on the surface must be washed off with clean water before it sets.
Dry grouting brushed into the joints is also allowed but any dry cement must be removed from the surface before watering the grout.
Detailed specifications are available on request for both Fixed and Flexible methods of setting Cobblestones™.
